I. Enduring Loneliness
To achieve success in life, you must learn to endure solitude. Especially at the outset of entrepreneurship, many times, in pursuit of your goals, while others are resting, you may still be quietly and tirelessly putting in the effort on your own. This journey is profoundly lonely, but if you can persevere, you’ll ultimately reap far greater rewards than those who give up easily.
II. Able to Endure Loneliness
For the sake of livelihood, work, and career, we often find ourselves unable to be by the side of our loved ones and friends, forced instead to sacrifice much of our leisure time and precious moments with family. Can we truly endure such loneliness?
III. Enduring Suffering
Life’s journey is far from smooth; along the way, we inevitably encounter countless obstacles, tears, and hardships. After suffering, two outcomes often emerge: one is becoming listless and defeated, the other is emerging stronger. Whether we succumb to despair or grow more resilient after enduring pain depends on our ability to withstand it.
IV. Withstand Pressure
Without pressure, there’s no motivation—everyone knows this simple truth. Yet many people, when faced with stress, choose to avoid it or give up. Only by adopting the right mindset and confronting pressure with composure can we unleash boundless energy for growth and development.
V. Resisting Temptation
In both life and work, we must steadfastly uphold our ideals and principles. As long as what we stand by is right, even if it brings temporary hardship, we should persevere; and if what we do is wrong, even if it yields fleeting pleasure, we should resolutely reject it.
In life, temptations of all kinds are everywhere. If our resolve is weak, these temptations can at any moment undermine and impede our progress, even causing us to lose our way and become ensnared in the vortex of short‑term gains. Faced with such temptations, we must, as always, remain steadfast in upholding our principles and ideals.
VI. Able to Withstand Adversity
Every failure, every tear and every drop of sweat keeps pushing us to our limits, making our path of growth fraught with obstacles. Yet it is only through countless trials that we come to grasp the true meaning of life. Let us ask ourselves: can we endure such hardships again and again? And after weathering so many setbacks, will we still have the strength to hold on?
VII. Able to Withstand Setbacks
When confronted with repeated scorn and mockery from others, and when faced with one setback after another from our clients, can we truly endure? Can we still maintain our original passion while staying true to our goals? Can we continue to not let our performance slip, but instead keep implementing measures that drive steady improvement?
In market development, when a client bluntly tells us to “get lost,” what kind of mindset should we maintain? Do we keep pressing the case, or do we quietly retreat and never again seek another meeting? Whether as individuals or as teams, we either grow stronger through setbacks or fade away.
VIII. Able to Lose Face
Face is something you give yourself—it’s not something others bestow. Fear of losing face can cost you your dignity for a lifetime, and fear of failure can condemn you to failure forever. Often, the very act of fearing loss of face leads to putting on a brave front, which only deepens your suffering, erodes even more of your standing, and traps you in a vicious cycle.
9. Able to Shoulder Responsibility
The term “responsibility” is constantly on our lips in both life and work, appearing with remarkable frequency. According to the Xinhua Dictionary, responsibility is defined as the fault one must bear for failing to perform or properly fulfill duties that fall within one’s purview. Responsibility can be categorized into three types: familial responsibility, corporate responsibility, and social responsibility.
In the family, we assume roles such as child, father, husband, or wife; in the workplace, we take on the identities of employee, manager, leader, or employer; and in society, we fulfill roles like citizen, lawyer, teacher, entrepreneur, and more. In short, each of us plays different parts in various contexts—but do we truly live up to the responsibilities that come with those roles?
X. Be able to keep your spirits up
After working overtime for several days in a row or pushing ourselves beyond capacity, can we still summon the energy to keep charging toward our goals?
